When I tell people I am a Travel Specialist, I typically get questions like: What is that? You mean a Travel Agent? Oh, you sell cruises? Well not exactly.

As a Travel Specialist, my goal is to offer unparalleled escapes — hand-crafted and designed specifically for each traveler.

Here are 3 tips to ensure you are working with a Travel Specialist that will meet your expectations.

  1. Define Travel Goals: Is there a feeling or experience you are after – Romantic Escape vs Wildlife Escape.  Is there a destination or region of interest, maybe Australia or South East Asia? Are there any must have experiences on your bucket list? Do you have set travel dates or are you flexible?
  2. Find Your Specialist: Check with accredited associations like American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) or International Air Transport Association (IATA). If you are traveling to a specific destination check destination Tourism Boards or try local listing sites like Yelp. Have at least one initial phone conversation with your Travel Specialist. During your conversation ask specific questions that will help you select the Travel Specialist.
  3. Get Personal: Be candid about who you are, how you like to travel, specific interests, physical condition, preferences, fears, allergies, pros and cons of past trips, etc. The more information you can share, the better your expectations can be met.

Escape the ordinary and find the right Travel Specialist for you.
