What is a Travel Specialist?
When I tell people I am a Travel Specialist, I typically get questions like: What is that? You mean a Travel Agent? Oh, you sell cruises? Well, not exactly.
As a Travel Specialist, my goal is to offer unparalleled escapes—hand-crafted and designed specifically for each traveler.
Here are 3 tips to ensure you are working with a Travel Specialist who will meet your expectations.
- Define Travel Goals: Is there a feeling or experience you are after? Romantic Escape vs Wildlife Escape. Do you have a destination or region in mind, like Australia or Southeast Asia? Are there any must-have travel experiences on your bucket list? Do you have set travel dates or are you flexible?
- Find Your Specialist: Check accredited associations like the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) or the International Air Transport Association (IATA). If you are traveling to a specific destination, check destination Tourism Boards or try local listing sites like Yelp. Have at least one initial phone conversation with your Travel Specialist. During your conversation, ask specific questions that will help you select the Travel Specialist.
- Get Personal: Be candid about who you are, how you like to travel, specific interests, physical condition, preferences, fears, allergies, pros and cons of past trips, etc. The more you share, the better we can meet your expectations for your custom itinerary and dream trip.
Escape the ordinary and find the right Travel Specialist for you for custom trip planning.
Michelle is the Chief Escape Organizer of Just Escape Travel. When travelling, I am passionate about connecting and emerging into a destination.
